(pronounced IHN-freh-struk-cher)

You probably know that this term describes systems and resources that support the operation of the public such as streets, highways, utilities, sewers, etc. However, it also refers to the substructure of buildings that provide the facility with the ability to function. We’re talking building structural and support systems, plumbing supply and waste lines, heating and cooling equipment and ducts, and electrical switch gear and distribution lines.
