(pronounced AHB-feh-skayt)

This complicated sounding verb actually has a simple meaning: to confuse, darken or make obscure or unclear.

Example: Jessica grew suspicious of the general contractor’s solvency because every time she pressed him on the viability of their projected timeline, he quickly obfuscated the issue with incomprehensible statistics and random anecdotes related to his subcontractors.
