The beauty of the interior design profession is that there is an endless supply of new spaces that need shaping. (Maybe that’s why an Interior Design career is considered one of the “sexiest jobs” according to Salary.com“) As the world evolves, progressiveprojects.gifbehaviors shift, and cultures morph, human needs change as well. So if you happen to be bored with your current projects, here are some unusual concepts from around the globe to inspire your imagination and banish the design blahs…

Space for WORK: easyOffice
Start-up wheelers & dealers in London will soon be able to get their entrepreneurial ventures off the ground without sinking too much cash into a long-term lease. Going beyond the typical executive suite, easyOffice will offer flexible office space that you can even book online, just like a hotel. Convenience is king.

Space for PLAY: Living Room Theaters
If you find yourself in Portland, Oregon, and just can’t take any more of the beautiful outdoors, then retreat to the great indoors by dropping in to Living Room Theaters. Besides a cinematic experience, this mini-complex of intimate screening rooms also offers food, adult beverages, and free WiFi. Just chill.

Space for REST: Yelo
In “New York, New York,” Liza Minelli might sing about the city that never sleeps, but now bleary-eyed residents have a place to power nap between partying all night and working all day. This “sleep salon” features private snoozing chambers, as well as purified air, high-end accoutrements, and reflexology treatments. Fatigue-B-Gone.

Design on, everyone.
