What’s In A Name?

The name PLiNTH & CHiNTZ is catching on. Why? We have our opinions.

1. It’s distinctive. We could of named our online mag Design Life, Design Fever or, naughtily, Design Quickie, but would you really remember those” We don’t think so. OK, maybe the last one…

2. It’s fun. Humor helps you remember and learn, and we aim to do both. When I was a civil engineering student, I had a fantastically crazy professor named Cecil Smith. My classmates and I had to stay awake through his 8am classes called Soil Mechanics (aka Dirt), Environmental Systems (aka Bugs), and Fundamentals of Hydraulic Engineering Systems (aka Sewers). Only his off-the-wall humor and constant Cecil-isms helped me stay awake and somewhat interested. That’s all you can really ask for, right” (Can you now see why I decided to pursue a career in interior design rather than civil engineering???)

3. It’s informative. If you’ve got an ounce of curiosity in you, you will see the name, wonder “what in the world…,” get out a dictionary and learn two vocabulary words in about 30 seconds. Believe me, it’s actually happened.

So keep the PLiNTH & CHiNTZ name on the tip of your tongue, the website in your Favorites, and me on your holiday gift list (just a suggestion). Peace, and peace out.
