World Environment Day

World Environment Day is the biggest annual event for positive environmental action and takes place every 5 June. This year’s host country Canada has chosen the broader theme ‘Connecting People to Nature’ and will be the focus of celebrations around the planet.
UN Environment will use the hashtags #WithNature as well as #WorldEnvironmentDay in its social media messaging around the event, which will kick off with an invitation to tell us about your favourite national park or wildlife sanctuary.
World Environment Day is about getting outdoors and into nature, to appreciate its beauty and its importance, and to take forward the call to protect the Earth that we share.
The human mind knows no boundaries. But our planet does.
We have created so much. But often at the cost of nature.
We can no longer continue down a path of irreversible harm to the environment.
Let’s renew our resolve and our climate.
Let’s strengthen our commitments and our biodiversity.
Let’s rethink how we consume, revive what we destroyed and reconnect with
what sustains us. Our home.
