We thought we’d have a little fun and include this trendy term. Glamourous + camping = glamping; i.e., relishing the majesty of the outdoors without sacrificing luxury accommodations and service. Experiences that were only available to the elite are now becoming more accessible, and those in the upper middle class are looking to explore the outdoors in high-end tents, tree houses, yurts and mobile travel units, all of which could use the expertise of interior designers.

Example: Josey’s long-time client, a successful doctor for whom she had designed multiple clinics, had recently become obsessed with glamping and asked her to design the interiors of a 2,000sf “tree house” he was having built on vacation property overlooking the lake.
