If a mechanism is described as pneumatic, then it means that it is worked or moved by air pressure. We mention this because some furniture manufacturers use pneumatic systems within their products in order to achieve a certain type of performance. For example, some furniture manufacturers use a pneumatic lift in the base of their barstools. The result? When one gets up off of the seat, it automatically returns to the default height and centers itself. How slick is that?
