Going… Going… Global. This issue we’re doing our best to hit as many continents as possible on our incredible shrinking planet:

• Our READY FOR MY CLOSE-UP subject grew up in Jakarta, Indonesia, attended grad school in the Deep American South, and now hails from the Heartland where he works for an international clientele.

• Our STAR POWER spotlight was born in Vienna, Austria, has at some point called Bermuda, Saudi Arabia, Aruba, and the U.S. home, and now would love to design yachts to satisfy her travel jones.

• Our contributor to ROAD TRIP is a former resident of the U.K., shares with us her love of the hidden treasure that is Cardiff, Wales, and aspires to be an international design journalist and photographer someday.

• And, of course, along with ASID, Architectural Record, designeresources.com and Rhodec International, PLiNTH & CHiNTZ is helping to sponsor the first annual World Design Day on April 27, 2005. The Rhodec ASID Student Chapter is working hard to sign up Discussion Leaders from around the world to guide a global array of students in multiple time zones. We’ll keep you posted on details and deadlines as they develop.
