2015 Turnstone NEXT Student Design Competition

There is no denying that the way we work is changing—how, when and where we work is influenced by mobile technology and the rise of shared economy. In a membership ­based model, coworking spaces offer a palette of places and a curated experience through shared spaces, desks and common interests.

The Program

Turnstone, a Steelcase brand, challenges future designers to join them in this student design challenge to create the NEXT coworking environment.

Coworking spaces foster a sense of community—where ideas are shared, collaboration flourishes and relationships are built—allowing entrepreneurs, freelancers and businesses to be flexible, collaborative and focused on end­ results.

The Pay-Off

Junior- and senior-level students compete against other CIDA-accredited programs to gain global recognition from Steelcase, the opportunity to be published in Steelcase and turnstone marketing materials, as well as cash prizes for the student and the university. Finalists also receive an all-expenses paid trip to Steelcase to spend time with thought leaders and explore what’s NEXT in coworking, workplace, and entrepreneurial environments.

The Deadline

The competition is open for entries through November 24, 2015. The Finalist and Semifinalists will be announced mid-December 2015, with final presentations taking place January-February 2016.
